I’ve been riding motorcycles for 50 years. My first Harley was a used 2000 Road King, after several years I traded it for a used 2011 Electra Glide, I enjoyed both of these Harleys. Over a year ago I traded up to a new 2018 Road Glide Ultra & now have over 20,000 miles on it. Being retired I was looking for some other riders who like myself, love to ride.  I joined the HOG Polk County Florida Chapter last year just expecting to have the opportunity to meet some new people & ride more.  Well after a few months I found myself planning, being a ride leader, assist, or sweep & enjoying the comradery with a great bunch of motorcycle enthusiast.  It’s a pleasure being on the team with the Polk County Florida HOG Chapter. My bike 2018 Road Glide Ultra, her name is “Wicked”. Purchased at Lakeland Harley Davidson.

My husband Wayne and I moved to Lakeland from Pennsylvania in 2019. We have 2 sons and 3 grandchildren back in PA. After spending many years involved in our local HOG Chapter in PA one of our first missions was to join a local Chapter. We joined Polk County HOG (PCH) July 2019 and have met many wonderful people. Many have become dear friends. In May of 2021 I discovered a fellow PCH Member had a Frankenstein Trike and for the first time ever I realized I wanted this too. In July 2021, I purchased my 2007 Dyna FXDC Super Glide Custom Frankenstein Trike. Got my endorsement October 2021 and have not looked back. I enjoy riding with my husband and all of our PCH HOG friends. In January 2021 I became Secretary of Polk County HOG. In June 2023 I became a Road Captain. Effective January 2024 I moved to Assistant Director. I look forward to many years to come in the best HOG Chapter ever! Ride Safe and Have Fun.

My name is Tamara, but people just call me Tami. I’m a native to the southern Ohio Valley but I have been a true southern girl since 1986. I met my husband Randy in Georgia, and we married in 2004. We lived in Fernandina Beach, Florida for several years, then moved to Central Florida in March of 2017. Shortly after relocating, Randy and I were out and about to get acquainted with our new town. We were headed to the local Farmer’s Market in downtown Lakeland, but for some random reason we sidetracked into the Lakeland Harley Davidson parking lot, drawn by some kind of event going on (as usual). I remember walking down the line of bikes, admiring them but not really stopping at any one in particular…....UNTIL. My eyes landed on this very special aqua and antique white beauty and I was drawn to it like bees to honey. This bike spoke to me. There was just something special about it – so special that the bike went home with us that very afternoon. This began my love affair with the open road and my hair in the wind. My husband grew up around motorcycles and was riding at a very young age, I had only ever ridden as a passenger on a motorcycle a handful of times in my life.

We joined the Polk County HOG Chapter and started becoming more involved with these people that I now consider my extended family. By December of that same year I took the new rider course, received my endorsement and on January 2, 2018 I purchased my very own Harley Davidson 750 Street. Now, as I’m entering my 6 th year as a HOG member I have served as Ladies of Harley Officer, Secretary, Newsletter Editor and now Committee Chairman. As a rider I have earned my 60,000 mile patch from HD – and working hard on my next threshold. My only regret is that I didn’t start riding sooner. It’s changed me in ways I can’t describe and defines me to my core. You are never too old to take up a new hobby or learn a new skill. I’d like to invite any of you reading this Bio, to join us in a meeting and check out why Polk County HOG is so great. And if you’re thinking about taking up motorcycle riding – DO IT!

Born and raised in Lakeland, where I still live with my lovely bride, Louise, I came by my love of motorcycles naturally. My father was an LPD motor officer in the 1950’s and rode with Mr. Huffman and crew in his off hours. Although my first road bike was a Yamaha, I quickly saw the light and traded up to my first Harley, a 2002 Heritage Softail and currently ride a Street Glide from Lakeland HD. I have been Treasurer of the Chapter for around 8 years now (with a brief hiatus) and have always felt a strong fiduciary duty to protecting our assets. I look forward to continuing in service to the Chapter and helping it grow in the years to come!

I grew up in Levittown, PA, the eldest sibling with two brothers. I enjoyed playing softball and soccer as a child & young adult. When Jerry and I met, we liked to bowl in the Beach Blanket Bowling League where we went on a few all-inclusive vacations before starting a family. I worked for 5 years with the Bucks County Dept. of Mental Health & Retardation, and 28 years with Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceutical Company, before retiring in 2017, where I moved to Auburndale, FL. My husband, Jerry, and I have been married for 33 years. We have 3 children: Brian (30), Kelly (28) and Eric (20). Now I enjoy riding with my husband Jerry on our 2021 HD Road Glide Ultra and 2000 HD Dyna Wide Glide, and singing in the choir at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Lakeland.

My wife Barbara and I moved to Lakeland, Florida from Philadelphia in April, 2019. We are both long time members of national HOG as well as local members of Bucks County, Pennsylvania HOG chapter where I served in several different officers’ position. Before my retirement I worked many years in the service department at the Brian’s Harley-Davidson dealership in Philadelphia before subsequently moving to Lakeland. Our first order of business upon our arrival in Lakeland, was to locate and join the local HOG chapter where we quickly made many new friends. It didn’t take long for us to become active and involved in Polk County HOG with Barb becoming Secretary and soon after me becoming the Safety Officer. Not long after I became the Head Road Captain where I get to plan and organize great rides along with a great bunch of other Road Captains and ride leaders. I have owned several Harley-Davidson motorcycles over the years with my current ride being a 2020 Street Glide Special which I plan on racking up some serious miles on. I am honored to be your Assistant Director of the GREATEST HOG CHAPTER IN FLORIDA along with a great bunch of EPIC people!Be safe. Ride safe, and remember to keep your head on a swivel while out there on the road. Peace.

Originally from British Columbia in Western Canada I transferred with my company to Florida with my wife Cathy and youngest daughter Jillian in 2005.  Our Oldest daughter Jenny remained in Canada at the University and her younger sister went back and joined her a year later.  Being raised in the Canadian Rockies I miss big mountains and the scenery, but not the snow!  I have been very fortunate to have traveled and worked across North America and have only missed being in four north eastern US states and one Northern Territory in Canada.  This also allowed me to visit numerous countries in Europe, South America and Asia where I was able to borrow or rent motorcycles to enjoy roads and visit places that most tourists would never see.

The most memorable riding I have ever done is trips with good friends from England to the annual MC Piston Rally in the Cantabrian Mountains and the Picos de Europa in Northern Spain.  A well organized week of running through old “Castilla” villages rich in history and culture, from sea level ocean side roads up to over 5,000 feet on narrow mountain pass roads with a continuous stream of switchbacks.  The highlight of this rally is the 5,000 curves ride with a total distance of approximately 500 kilometers (310 Miles), a day long and challenging route limited to 120 classic motorcycles that runs rain or shine (it usually pours that day!)  Cancelled for several years due to the COVID mess, but I am hoping I will be going back again this year.

I purchased my first street motorcycle in 1971 while still in High School.  I picked it up used from a dealership about an hour away and rode it home in February in snow flurries and icy roads.  In 2006 I purchased  my first “new” Harley Davidson at Lakeland HD, a Cobalt blue Road King Custom and joined Polk County HOG.  My first 14 years in Florida I did not ride as much as I had hoped since I was traveling extensively for business and gone an average of 18 days a month.  I retired two years ago and currently ride a Road Glide Special.  I enjoy all the friends and great people I have met through the Polk County H.O.G. Club.

I was born and raised in Alexandria, VA and lived there until I met my soulmate and the love of my life, Bill! Our very first date was on the motorcycle, and I enjoyed our weekend of riding through the mountains in Shenandoah Valley so much that I was instantly hooked on riding! We got engaged and did the long-distance thing for a while but it was too hard, so I moved here in May 2020, and we got married in September 2020.

I don’t have my own bike but I do have my own biker! I’m happy just being my husband’s passenger for now. Together, we have rode thousands of miles during the last 3 and a half years. Once Bill retires we plan on buying a fifth wheel to travel the world and ride hundreds of thousands of miles together.

I worked for the Department of Defense for 27 years, took an early retirement in 2005 but got bored so I went to work for Arlington County Government and after 11 years there I retired in January 2016. I have been a REALTOR® for 7 years and I am also now a Mobile Home Sales Agent as well.

I have one child who is grown and has his own family, they currently live in Virginia. I have 4 grandchildren (Tacy, Raymond, Oakley and Nova). I love them all very much and treasure the time I get to spend with them. Being so far away is hard on this Nana!

We joined Polk County HOG in May 2022 because we wanted to meet more people, become part of a community and ride as a group. We have a very active chapter, and I am proud to be part of that. We have a lot of fun every time we get together and go on some excellent riding adventures!

I am happy and honored to be the Newsletter Editor for the best HOG Chapter ever!

I was born and raised in Auburndale, FL. I married my high school sweetheart, Thrasey (Rooster), in 1983. I retired in 2020 after working 40 years as a high school secretary with The Polk County School Board.

We have two successful adult children who married wonderful spouses.

We have four sweet granddaughters and one adorable grandson who fill our lives with love and laughter.

When I was growing up I was not an outdoor, adventurous, bike riding kid. So my love for riding motorcycles started when we purchased our first “big” motorcycle in 2000. Thrasey had several smaller motorcycles before then that I wouldn’t ride with him!

I love riding passenger because I enjoy taking pictures and videoing the scenery while having the wind surrounding me. I’ve enjoyed countless rides in many states over the years and I look forward to riding and making fun memories with our Polk County HOG family!

I was born and raised right here in Auburndale, FL and graduated from Auburndale High School where I met my best friend and the love of my life, Kay! We married and I began my law enforcement career. It wasn’t long before I became interested in motorcycles because a few of my co-workers rode bikes. I bought my first motorcycle, a 1992 Yamaha Virago 750 .. I was hooked. Over the years we have had many makes and models of motorcycles and finally bought our first Harley Davidson in 2016 .. a brand new 2017 Ultra Limited. Unfortunately, the oil pump went out and scored the engine after 6 months. Lakeland Harley took good care of us. We traded it in and upgraded to a 2017 CVO Limited. We rode this one for a couple of years until I fell in love with my current Harley .. a 2019 CVO Limited. Kay rides with me a lot and is very active in the motorcycle lifestyle. Together, we have rode hundreds of thousands of miles over 30 plus years, all over the country. Since I’m getting older, we decided to have our CVO Limited converted to a trike. We had a California Side Car Daytona Trike Kit installed in November of 2021, we love it. It is much more comfortable riding two up for us. Since I still love riding on two wheels, one up, I have a 2023 Harley Davidson CVO Road Glide also. I enjoy riding it with the group when Kay isn’t able to go.

We have two children who are grown with their own families, they live close by. 2016 was a great year! I bought my first Harley, I retired from the Auburndale Police Department as a Lieutenant with 32 years of service, and we had our first grand baby! We now have five grandkids and adore them all and love spending time with them!

I was a Road Captain for about 15 years in another motorcycle chapter. We joined Polk County HOG in December of 2021 and I knew from the beginning I wanted to take part in planning and leading rides. I also enjoy technology and volunteered to be the Chapter’s Webmaster.

We love our Polk County HOG family!
