My wife, Dale, and I joined this HOG Chapter in 2018 and boy what a ride it has been! Shortly after joining I was asked to become a Road Captain, leading rides with these Harley riders was great fun. In 2019 I was chosen to be the Chapter’s Head Road Captain. The team of other Road Captains made it easy to keep our calendar filled with fantastic rides covering the backroads of Florida. Riding forward during 2020 and 2021 I had the privilege of being the Assistant Director. Then I had the honor of being the Chapter’s Director for 2022, 2023, and 2024. Seeing this Chapter grow and become a well-respected Chapter in the H.O.G organization is extremely rewarding. Having retired from being a Chapter Officer I am happy to continue not only as a Chapter member but also as a Road Captain again.

Originally from British Columbia in Western Canada my wife and I relocated to Lakeland with a work transfer in 2005. I purchased my first street licensed motorcycle in 1971 while still in High School. In 2006 I purchased my first “new” Harley Davidson at Lakeland HD and joined Polk County HOG. I am now retired and currently ride a 2024 Road Glide. I enjoy all the friends and great people I have met through the Polk County H.O.G. Club and try to ride at least three times a week.

In 1999, I purchased my first Harley-Davidson. Soon after my purchase, I realized that there weren’t many others to ride with. So, I inquired with a few folks about the local HOG Chapter. Anxious to find others to ride with, I think I joined before ever attending a meeting! Almost 25 years later, I still find myself in the same situation…riding a Harley and looking for that next ride.
Several years after joining, I felt that the Chapter needed to step up the number of activities and volunteered to serve as Activities Director for 5 years. We went from 2 or 3 rides a month to levels that we see today. While not every ride or activity is for everyone, you can pick the ones that you might think as fun.
HOG is what you make of it, so “Ride and have Fun!”

My wife Barbara and I moved to Lakeland, Florida from Philadelphia in April, 2019. We are both long time members of national HOG as well as local members of Bucks County, Pennsylvania HOG chapter where I served in several different officers’ position. Before my retirement I worked many years in the service department at the Brian’s Harley-Davidson dealership in Philadelphia before subsequently moving to Lakeland. Our first order of business upon our arrival in Lakeland, was to locate and join the local HOG chapter where we quickly made many new friends. It didn’t take long for us to become active and involved in Polk County HOG. I became the Safety Officer and not long after I became the Head Road Captain where I got to plan and organize great rides along with a great bunch of other Road Captains and ride leaders. Most recently I served as the Asst. Director and now I am the Chapter Grill Master where I organize our grilling events each month at the dealership. I have owned several Harley-Davidson motorcycles over the years with my current ride being a 2020 Street Glide Special which I plan on racking up some serious miles on. I am honored to be part of the GREATEST HOG CHAPTER IN FLORIDA along with a great bunch of EPIC people! Be safe. Ride safe, and remember to keep your head on a swivel while out there on the road. Peace.

After many years of being a passenger I decided to get my endorsement when I discovered Frankenstein Trikes. I purchased my 2007 Dyna FXDC Super Glide Custom Frankenstein Trike in July 2021. Got my endorsement October 2021 and have not looked back. I enjoy riding with my husband and all of our PCH HOG friends. I became a Road Captain in June 2023.
